March 2020 Updates

Compassion Weekend
This coming weekend, Victory is going to be hosting the Compassion Journey. This is a great opportunity for you and your family to change the life of a child.  We invite you to come and experience through an interactive presentation what it is like to grow up in extreme poverty. There will be separate huts set up with different aspects of a child’s life. You will be able to go to various stations and will have headsets (sanitized between each use) and will be able to hear what this young person, who is now an adult, has experienced throughout his life. You will be able to see the food (or lack thereof) that they eat, the way they live, their education and many aspects of their lives. The person whose life will be featured is now a part of the Compassion Team.

This truly will be an eye-opening experience, as we in this country have no idea what it is like to be poor. This is a beautiful opportunity to sponsor a child for just $38.00 per month. There will be pictures of various children that you will be able to pick from as well as other information about the child.  No child should live in poverty.

Why?  "Because God calls us to care for the poor.  Everyone needs to hear about the love and hope of Jesus Christ."  - excerpt from Why Compassion

This is a family friendly event; in fact, young children will be impacted by what they see more than imagined.

Registration to attend the event is not necessary; however, it is recommended. To register for this event, please click this link: https://journey.compassion.com/events/112 It will only take 20-30 minutes to get through the entire journey.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ ~ Matthew 25:34-40
